Who is this Qualification for?
MEM30205 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade would prepare a person for selecting, adapting and transferring skills and knowledge to new environments and providing technical advice and some leadership in resolution of specified problems. This would be applied across a range of roles in a variety of contexts with some complexity in the extent and choice of options available.
Mechanical Trade includes employment in design, assembly, manufacture, installation, modification, testing, fault finding, commissioning, maintenance and service of all mechanical equipment, machinery, fluid power systems, diesel fitting, instruments and the use of related computer controlled equipment, eg. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), computer controlled equipment and Computer Numeric Controlled machine tools etc.
This is a Nationally Recognized qualification.
As per individual units of competency chosen within this qualification.
This is a competency-based program.
The minimum requirements for achievement of the MEM30205 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade are;
- completion of all Mandatory units of competency
- completion of Mechanical Trade stream units to the value of at least 40 points and
- completion of specialisation units to bring the total value of Mechanical Trade stream and specialisation units to at least 76 points.
Relevance to engineering workplace requirements can be tailored via selections of Mechanical Trade and Specification units.
MEM30205 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
Participants who successfully complete this qualification have the option of a future pathway into the following:
- Certificate IV in Engineering
- Diploma in Engineering
- Advanced Diploma on Engineering
- And other Engineering qualifications
Participants may continue studies through enrolment in a university degree, applying for articulation on a case-by-case basis.
